What is Hosting?
Hosting is simply the term for storing a website. It is the act of placing
a website on a server, registering that server as the computer that hosts
the specific domain name e.g www.yourdomain.com. This allows the internet
user to access the website from anywhere in the world.
What is FTP?
File Transfer Protocol is a method of transferring files (web pages for
example) from your local PC to your web server. When a hosting package
is purchased 'ftp details', consisting of the host name, User ID and password
are sent to us.
What is a Browser?
Browser refers to the program a website visitor is using to view the web
site. Examples include Safari, Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, and Internet
Explorer.
What does SEO mean?
SEO stands fo Search Engine Optimisation and is the method for making
sure your website performs well via seach engines (Yahoo, Google etc).
It is done by editing content and HTML coding to increase its relevance
to keywords, thus promoting your site higher up the rankings.
